Johnny Cash Top 10 – By The Numbers

Johnny Cash is a legend and inarguably one of the most influential artists of his generation or any other. His music lives on even after his passing, with a career that spanned decades, and has seen music continued to be released after his death in 2003.

With a library of songs that includes massive hits, award-winners, and fan favourites, a lot of people have their own favourites. But, to try and find out which songs in 2021 go down as Johnny Cash’s Top 10 – we did the math.

With a combination of Spotify and YouTube plays, we ranked the most played songs by Johnny Cash. There’s a duet with June Carter Cash, there’s a huge hit by The Highwaymen, there’s a Christmas song, and most of all, hits.

Because Johnny Cash’s career came mostly before the era of music videos and all of it came before streaming, this list is about contemporary listening and not about impact, chart placement, sales, or any other metric from the time when they were recorded and released.

This also means that a lot of these songs don’t have singular music videos (though some do) and that means there are multiple videos for the songs, which was taken into account and multiple videos’ view counts were added together to get this ranking created.

Now, check out the list, hit play on the Johnny Cash songs you love the most, and enjoy the sounds, stories, and legacy from The Man In Black.
