Tiera, Debut EP Review
From Gardendale, AL to the country music scene centred in Nashville, TN, Tiera’s journey has brought her to a big step with the release of her debut EP. The self-titled offering brings five songs to country music fans. And if this is the official introduction of Tiera to our lives as country music listeners, it’s a good one.
From start to finish, the EP is a wonderful feature for Tiera’s voice as it shines in every song and situation. It’s fun to listen to her, it’s relaxing to listen to her, it’s just nice. And nice is good.
When Teira released Miles, featuring BRELAND, it landed in the New Music Spotlight and we said, “Tiera’s vocals are outstanding, BRELAND adds his flavour and support in his feature role, and everything comes together in a fantastic combination. If you don’t know these two artists, let this be your introduction, and keep an eye and ear out for them moving forward.” Well, here we are moving forward, and you should be ready!
Tiera ft BRELAND – Miles
At just 16 minutes, we definitely wish there was more to listen to on Tiera’s debut EP. Our hope is that there’s another EP or a full-length debut coming as we move forward in 2021 and then more and more beyond that. We also hope that folks find the music, listen to the music, and connect with it. Because that’s what’s going to keep her coming back to us, and what makes music special.
It’s also fantastic to note that Tiera co-wrote all five of the songs on the EP. That tells us that she’s got more in her and whether she works with these writers again (see back cover image below) or new ones, or writes solo, we’re in for good stuff.
There’s a lot of sweet on the EP, and I love sweet songs, so it’s a hit for me. But, the messaging on Not Your Girl is also a big win. Laid Back is the love song that makes me want to curl up on the couch. Not Your Girl is the song that Tiera shares to remind every woman to be themselves and stick to it until you find Laid Back with the right partner.
