Nickelback Top 10 – by the Numbers

Nickelback might be polarizing or whatever you want to call it, but it’s undeniable that they have reached epic heights in their career and they have released a LONG list of hits.

To celebrate that legacy and library, we decided it was time to put together a new Top 10 list for the Canadian rock and roll heavyweights.

Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve done a version of this. Back in the summer of 2019 when we thought we were going to see a bunch of you and Nickelback at Roxodus (oops), we did two Top 10 lists separated into 1996-2006 and 2007-2019.

Nickelback Top 10: 1996-2006
Nickelback Top 10: 2007-2019

This time we’ve done things differently though!

As always in our “By The Numbers” series, we started with the 10 songs in the ‘Popular’ list on Spotify, and then we hit YouTube to look at streaming numbers (on official videos)(no live performances) and did the math. From there, we did the ranking and built this Nickelback Top 10 list.

Note: There are videos hosted by Road Runner (the record label) that have a lot of views over the years, so they were included in the math along with videos hosted on the band’s channel.

Because we went by the numbers, there’s a chance that there are going to be songs that you like or love from Nickelback. Maybe you love Animals or Too Bad or, like me, you went all-in on them with Leader Of Men. Sorry, they aren’t on the list.

Now, buckle up, hit plan on the songs from 10 to 1, and enjoy!

And leave a comment with your favourite Nickelback song – even if it’s not in the Top 10!
