Robyn Ottolini Releases The “But I’m Not Always Sad Either” EP!

It’s hard to describe the trajectory of Robyn Ottolini‘s career in the last year or so other than to say she’s had a rocket strapped to her back and she’s headed straight up. The smalltown Ontario singer-songwriter has watched her breakout hit F-150 cross the 14 million stream mark on Spotify, with more than 5.5 million YouTube streams on top of that. And now, she’s following it up with the release of a new four-song offering, The “But I’m Not Always Sad Either” EP.

If you’re new to Ottolini’s music, the title of the EP builds off her last EP, The I’m Not Always Hilarious EP. It’s a sister release in many ways, offering a deeper look at her personality and songwriting. Giving you a more complete idea of who she is, what she’s got to say, and how she’s going to go about saying it. And we’re here for it.

If you want sweetness and love and openness, she’s got it for you. If you want a little more silly and sass, she’s got plenty of that for you too. And if you want to go all the way to the happiest, most loving place Robyn Ottolini has never taken us in a song, Daddy’s Daughter will do that.

The Warner Music Nashville recording artist leaves us wanting more after the four songs and 13 minutes are over. But it’s not because we don’t get what we want, we already covered that, just because we’re greedy and wish there was more of it. So Robyn, if you’re reading this… 1) We love it. 2) More please whenever you’re ready.

Hit play on the videos for each of the tracks on The “But I’m Not Always Sad Either” EP now and get a taste for it, for Robyn Ottolini, and for what we can expect from her as that rocket keeps taking her higher and higher.

Robyn Ottolini – Daddy’s Daughter

In September 2020, We spoke with Dallas Smith and asked him 5 Quick Questions. When we got to the last question, which artist should people be paying more attention to? he answered Robyn Ottolini. It was only a short time later that she signed her Warner deal, that we knew for sure that big things were getting ready to happen and that it was going to happen sooner rather than later.

Five years ago, in the lead up to the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase (where she was a Top 7 finalist), we asked Robyn what people could expect from her performance. She answered, “You can expect a small town girl having way too much [fun] playing her favourite tunes and straight up having a good time.” We haven’t asked her the same question since – but we have a feeling her answer would be about the same. And there’s absolutely no problem with that. We can’t wait to see it, and hear it, and listen to the crowd get into F-150, Tell You Everything, Hold Me Back, Sincerely, Drunk Me, Daddy’s Daughter, and more!

If you didn’t watch the videos (or if you did and loved them) hit play on the stream to listen to The “But I’m Not Always Sad Either” EP in full and get a taste for it, for Robyn Ottolini, and for what we can expect from her as that rocket keeps taking her higher and higher.
