Alee Releases New Album, Feels Like This

Alee is all the way back with the release of her new album, Feels Like This, and if this is the start of a new chapter, we’re ready for it and whatever comes next.

The eight-song album includes pre-release singles Don’t Make Me Miss You (2018), No One Like You (2020), and The Springtime (2020), which have been keeping us reminded of how much we were hoping to get this album over the last few years. And with the more recent digital releases of Guys Like You and Ex-Girlfriend leading into the full drop, we’ve been all the way ready to dig into the completed project from the Alberta native.

Note: All three of Don’t Make Me Miss You, No One Like You, and The Springtime were featured in New Music Spotlight posts – so when I say that we were ready for this album and we like these songs, I’m not kidding.

If you’re asking for my pick between those two newer tracks for a radio single and return to the mainstream country music audience, I’m choosing Guys Like You… while still telling you that Ex-Girlfriend is a lot of fun and you should stream it and enjoy the heck out of it too.

Alee – Guys Like You

Back to that new chapter thing… this is a quote we got from Alee is a pre-release message from her and her team:

A lot can change in three years (I know I did). I spent the last 1095 days doing what I know best – making music, laughing, eating chicken fingers, overthinking all of that.

I’ve loved life.

Just like I love these songs.

And I hope you do, too.

This is just the beginning of my new chapter. Thank you for listening.

I wasn’t just being cute, if Alee thinks this is a new chapter for her and her music and her career, who am I to argue?

Alee – Don’t Make Me Miss You

The songs on this album are catchy and stick. They’re going to be great to sing along with at live shows. They’re going to be fun to remember as part of Alee’s library moving forward. It’s an eight-track, 24-minute listen. It’s a comeback of sorts. A welcome back too. And it’s a country album that allows itself to be what it wants to be with influence and sounds and styles that work for Alee and these songs.

There are songs here that are going to keep getting added to playlists, that are going to make people dance and sing and connect. That’s the beauty of music, and Feels Like This and the songs that it gives us now join that club.

I’m quite happy to have listened to this album and these songs. And to look back at the previously released singles that I know and love, and add them to the new songs. They get new life. Alee gets new life. It’s springtime. It’s fun. It’s happy. It’s good times for everyone involved.

Alee – No One Like You

She’s been a Rising Star nominee and a Female Artist of the Year nominee and she’s got a whole lot of career in front of her and it starts with Feels Like This and the songs that she’s presented to us in this package.

We’ll be watching Alee as she plays these songs, gets back in front of fans, and gets started on whatever comes next. We would recommend that you join us in doing the same.
