Celestial Ruin, ‘See U Nxt Tuezday’ Video & 5 Quick Questions

Celestial Ruin 5 Quick Questions

Vancouver-based Celestial Ruin is back with a slightly new sound on their latest song, See U Nxt Tuezday. Produced in Vancouver by Jay Van Poederooyen (Nickelback, Hinder, and Devin Townsend) the release features the band’s evolving sound, which began during a trip to LA in 2019. While in Los Angeles they worked with illustrious producer Mike Plotnikoff known for his work with Three Days Grace, Of Mice and Men, and Halestorm, among many others. It made a big impression. See U Nxt Tuezday was recorded at JVP Sounds and Armoury Studios.

The track comes from a personal place. This song is an anthem for anyone who has been put down or treated as less than someone else. Perhaps a giant middle finger to anyone who’s acted as if you were beneath them.

Thanks to Larissa and Marcus for taking the time to put together a 5 Quick Questions video for us.

5 Quick Questions with Celestial Ruin

The band had an awesome time working with Jay. They got to stretch their wings and create something extremely infectious and energizing, all while staying true to their original vision for the song.

“The video was shot in beautiful Quesnel, BC and was directed and edited by Dave Benedict (Default, Bonds of Mara). Dave was the mastermind behind the band’s last single, Heart Shaped Ashes. The theme for this video was post-apocalyptic. Seeing and watching the world burn and to still be standing there fighting and strong. We basically set the entire place on fire and flooded it with smoke, lol. It was a long and difficult shoot, but as always, the band and Dave seemed to rise to the challenge. We always try to outdo the last thing we released. Bigger, better, more complicated, lol. We are already planning our next release and look forward to once again teaming up with Dave to create something that is not only visually pleasing but stretches our limits in every way.”
