Alanis Morissette Announced as Headliner for Start.ca Rocks The Park 2022 – with Garbage, The Beaches and Crash Test Dummies

After a few bumps, partly thanks to COVID, Start.ca Rocks the Park is back for 2022! Today the London, Ontario-based festival announced the opening night lineup for their 4-night series, with one of the biggest Canadian female icons of all time, Alanis Morissette. We’ll wait for you to stop squealing.

Start.ca Rocks the Park has teamed up with London’s Best Rock FM96 and 103.1 Fresh FM to kick off the 2022 festival. Joining Morissette as special guests will be Garbage, The Beaches and Crash Test Dummies. This lineup is stacked!

Alanis Morissette on stage

Alanis Morissette has been everywhere, for what seems like forever. With the recent release of the documentary ‘Jagged,’ the stage show ‘Jagged Little Pill,” the 25-year re-release of ‘Jagged Little Pill‘, her monthly podcast Conversation with Alanis Morissette, and her latest release ‘such pretty forks in the road‘, serving as a judge on Fox’s new competition show, ‘Alter Ego,’ and executive producer on ABC’s upcoming sitcom, ‘Relatable,’ inspired by her life. Morissette knows how to deliver.

Joining Alanis Morissette will be rock icons Garbage. The four-piece have been together since their inception in 1993. They’ve taken some breaks, but the original band is what you’ll always get. Shirley Manson, Duke EriksonSteve Marker, and Butch Vig have released seven studio albums starting with 1995’s self-titled album to 2021’s  ‘No Gods, No Masters.‘  They hop around genres, they speak to our souls, and they do it with such flair that we can’t stop watching and listening.

Garbage has sold over 17 million albums worldwide. This band has been on my bucket list, and I’m hoping 2022 is the year I get to tick that entry off.

The Beaches

The Beaches return to the Start.ca Rocks the Park Stage! We caught up with them in 2019, and they were already on fire, having just opened for the Rolling Stones. They put on a hell of a set, and over the past two years, they’ve continued to wrack up star points, whether that be opening for Foo Fighters, hanging around Billboard charts or releasing new music, they’ve got it all. Have you heard? Elton John loves them! You can find their latest EP, ‘Future Lovers‘ here, and you can pre-order their upcoming album, ‘Sisters not Twins‘ here.

Crash Test Dummies Press Photo

If you’re super young, you may not know the Crash Test Dummies. But, if you had great parents, they would have played this band for you. A Canadian rock band out of Winnipeg, they had some of the biggest radio hits in the 90s. They’ve won the Juno for Group of the Year, and their song ‘Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm‘ hit as high as number one on worldwide music charts. That song was so good, Weird Al parodied it. Isn’t that how you knew that you made it in the 90s?

Their ‘God Shuffled His Feet’ 25th-anniversary tour was rescheduled to 2022 due to COVID. So we’re thrilled that they’ll be heading to London for this festival.
