Football and Food – NFL Week 6

>20111018-182324.jpgHey kids, I hope you all had a great weekend full of good times, friends, football and food!

Week 6 was light on the cooking for me – but not on the eating.

Sunday started with Eggo Waffles, a treat I don’t often have. They were great with butter and maple syrup and were perfectly paired with my coffee and Netbook. A fantastic start to the day really.

When 1pm rolled around and it was time for kick-off I found myself in Markham, Ontario at a little pub called The King Edward’s Arms. They had the Green Bay vs St. Louis blowout on the big screens and the Buffalo vs NY Giant battle on the little screen and I had a menu.

I started with a pint of Keith’s and quickly settled on the burger and onion rings option for my Week 6 lunch. The burger was tasty, the toppings were fresh, the onion rings were crispy and the beer was cold. The best part though – the price.

$15 – that’s it. Try finding that deal in the city on game day.

Lunch filled me up pretty good so I didn’t eat again until well into the Sunday night game. I’ll admit that I was feeling lazy, so I popped some jalapeño poppers in the oven with some sliced red onion and tossed in a couple hot dog wieners.

It wasn’t fancy or special or dynamic – but it was tasty and I don’t regret it for a second.

There you have it. Another week down (10-3 on the picks) and 11 more to go.

Have a great week, be awesome!
