Last night was the kick off for Canadian Music Week… and I was there at Lee’s Palace for The Reason.

It was pretty cool being in the crowd to see the band take the stage at 11pm since I sit about 9 feet away from guitar player Mike Caputo on a regular basis and ban.jo is constantly telling me that he’s near me. The boys in the band played a good set, had the crowd into it and won the night.

Note: The bonus win of the night was Weezer’s Tired of Sex to close the set.

The boys are based in Hamilton, ON and are doing a pretty great job of making music these days. Plus lead singer Adam White is a “total f*cking babe” according to long time fan @rlangdon.

I won’t deny singing along very loudly to both Longest Highway Home and Where Do We Go From Here… and it was a huge relief because I can’t be letting myself sing them in the office.

Note: If you’re in Toronto this weekend and feeling adventurous, The Reason are taking the stage at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern at 2:30 Saturday night and the bar will be serving until 4am. Just wanted to be a good friends and let you know.

All said and done it was a bad ass set that didn’t have any rock and roll bullshit, just rock and roll.
