The Walking Dead Season 3 – Tonight Is The Return Of The Dead

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages over 13 or whenever your parents decide you’re ready… The Walking Dead returns tonight!

That’s right. After months and months of waiting and blogging and rewatching seasons 1 and 2, AMC is ready to present the season 3 premiere tonight at 9pm!

To say that I am excited would be correct. In fact, this weekend my TV has been almost locked to AMC for their marathon of seasons 1 and 2 in the lead up to the new episodes.

Note: The channel did change to watch Game 1 of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers. And man, what a game that turned out to be. Crazytown!

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead it’s almost certain that you know what we’re getting ready for in the new season. The Prison looks to be a new stomping ground for the group, The Governor will be introduced and looks to have Andrea and Michonne in his grip as guests and Merle will be back with a nifty looking metal casing at the end of his stumped arm.

What we don’t know is, who dies first? This series has been built on losing characters who we have become attached to or like. I can not see that formula changing. And why would it? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

What I’m remembering and realizing as I watch the marathon this weekend is this: I love this show for more than just the make-up, costuming, design, acting and zombies. I love the storytelling and the character development and the people. The team behind The Walking Dead have turned the Zombie Apocalypse into a character driven story. And that is amazing. It’s also why I keep coming back for more.

If you have never watched the show before I do not recommend tuning in tonight and starting at season 3. I recommend finding a way to watch the first 2 seasons and then catch up with us on season 3 as quickly as you can.

I have a feeling that it’s going to be a fun ride with new folks added to the group and unfortunately, some folks who won’t make it to the end.

As of right now though, we have no idea who those people might be. That’s what the fun part is going to be.

That fun starts tonight kids. Be ready, set an alarm, have a nap, do whatever you’ve got to do.

Stay awesome.
