Past The Past: Jess Moskaluke Live at Toronto’s YouTube Space

Jess Moskaluke wanted to do something different to celebrate and promote the release of her brand new album, Past The Past. So, the Juno and Canadian Country Music Association award winner came to Toronto, teamed up with YouTube, and live streamed an acoustic release party for the world to see.

It was a full circle type of project for the Saskatchewan native who started her career and fanbase on YouTube more than six years ago.

We’ve had the chance to talk to Jess about YouTube and the internet about how important it has been and continues to be for her career, and she acknowledges, accepts, and embraces it. As she’s told us, she doesn’t know any other way really, this is how it works for her.

On Friday night in Toronto, fans gathered around as Moskaluke and her band played songs from the new album, and some fan favourites. Some of those fans were contest winners that we were happy to send to the event – thanks to Jess’s team for helping us make that happen.

We also want to shout out Paul McGuire, who we all love, for doing a great job hosting the live stream at the Toronto YouTube space. Yes, we all miss seeing Paul on CMT Canada… but if you love country music, keep your eyes open, because he’s still going to be around and you’ll have lots of chances to see him. Stay tuned.

If you haven’t taken the chance to listen to Past The Past yet, we highly recommend that you do. And, when Jess announces tour dates and live shows in 2018 (they’re coming, we’ll tell you when we know more), we suggest that you get a ticket to see her perform.

Now, check out the recording of the live stream YouTube video, some more photos from the evening, and listen to the full album. Enjoy!
