2018 Juno Awards Winners and Wrap

The 2018 Juno Awards were handed out in Vancouver over the weekend, with artists from all over Canada recognized for their accomplishments in music.

At the Saturday night gala and the Sunday night awards show, all genres were represented while the industry and fans celebrated and honoured emerging artists and legendary talents together in the biggest celebration of music in the country.

At the top of many lists is the emotion that came from Gord Downie’s posthumous awards for Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year (with Kevin Drew), and Adult Alternative Album of the Year. The loss of Downie is one that is still being felt by family, friends, and fans – and his legacy will continue to live on, with these awards as the exclamation point added to the album that was released just 10 days after his passing.

It is also exciting to see Juno wins for young artists making their way to the top. James Barker Band, The Beaches, Alvvays, Lights, Grimes, and more had various career accomplishments coming into the weekend. But regardless of their differences, they all now share the distinction of being Juno Award winners.

Congratulations to all of the winners, we can’t wait to see what happens on March 17, 2019 in London, Ontario at the 48th annual Juno Awards.

Before we get to the list of winners, here are some photos we’ve taken over the last few years of 2018 winners The Beaches, James Barker Band, The Glorious Sons, A Tribe Called Red, The Dead South, and International Album of the Year winner, Kendrick Lamar.
