Canadian singer-songwriters, Clayton Bellamy, Amanda Rheaume, and Petric came together at The Joint in Toronto on Thursday evening for an intimate songwriter’s circle at Indie Week 2018. The event was hosted by ole and welcomed music lovers into a cool space for three rounds of songs from these four talented performers.
Hosted by ole TV’s Paul McGuire, the songwriter’s circle was a chance for the artists to share new material in front of a live crowd, and for music fans to get a sneak peek at music they might just hear in the not too distant future.
Note: While songwriter’s circles like this are usually the place for acoustic guitars, you can count on Clayton Bellamy to be the dude that shows up with a gorgeous electric to play stripped-down rock & roll.
Each artist played one song that has been recorded and released out to the world and two that haven’t. Clayton Bellamy & The Congregation‘s brand new single, Commandment #11 (Love Someone), Amanda Rheaume‘s 2016 break-up track, Dead Horse, and Petric’s Top 15 Canadian country single, 18 Ends all sounded great in their stripped down forms on Thursday. And so did the new songs we heard for the first time.
With fans, artists (Kelsi Mayne, Gabriela Geneva, The Command Sisters), and industry professionals in attendance, Clayton Bellamy, Amanda Rheaume, and Petric all proved their talent at Indie Week 2018. We can’t wait to hear these new songs and more very soon.
