Miranda Lambert at Boots and Hearts 2019

Miranda Lambert made her return to Boots and Hearts in a big way on Saturday night, showing thousands of country fans that a woman can be a headliner and that she is still at the top of her game.

The last time we saw Miranda play the Boots and Hearts main stage it was 2013 and we were at MoSport Park in Bowmanville, ON. A lot has happened in her life and career since then, but the only thing that mattered on Saturday night is she was back and ready to go in front of thousands of cheering Canadian country music fans.

The nine-time (consecutive) ACM Top Female Artist of the Year award winner was in fine form when she took over the stage, playing through some of her biggest hits and the songs that her fans love. Over her 15+ year career, there have been a lot of songs to catch the ears and hearts of country fans, so honestly, we aren’t surprised that the assembled audience was all-in on Miranda Lambert’s set.

As we danced and sang along with the rest of the Saturday night crowd, we couldn’t help but notice the smile on Lambert’s face and the confidence and comfort that she had moving all over the stage and catwalk. She looked like a genuinely happy human, up there in front of thousands, doing what she loves to do. Those fans, they loved it too. That’s The Way The World Goes ‘Round, Kerosene, and Highway Vagabond opened the show with all of the live music magic that we love. There was an excitement in the air when she walked on stage, that buzz that comes before big headliners, and it never really went away.

The sassy and bad-assy attitude that we know and love from the Texas native was there and she showed it off on tracks like Heart Like Mine and Baggage Claim. The sweet, soft, vulnerable side was there too, and when she sang Over You, The House That Built Me, and Tin Man we felt it. That ability to take the show from one place to the next, and bring the fans with her makes her a star on stage just as much as the songs do. Miranda Lambert is a bonafide headline act that was in the right spot at Boots and Hearts 2019.

Miranda Lambert packed her set with jams. The crowd sang their hearts out to Automatic, Gun Powder & Lead, Mama’s Broken Heart, and more.

Note: Early in the set when Miranda played It All Comes Out In The Wash we started getting excited about her new album. We know now that it will be called Wildcard and will be released on November 1, 2019. We can’t wait for it with Locomotive, Mess With My Head, Bluebird, and the rest of the new music.

In her own words, it takes all kinds of kinds, and on Saturday night we got to see Miranda bring together all kinds of Canadian country music fans to stand in front of one stage and sing and dance and drink and have a good night.

There was a time when we weren’t sure we’d ever see Miranda Lambert back at Boots and Hearts. But let us tell you now, we sure are glad she came back, and we’re even more glad that we were there to see it.
