Choir! Choir! Choir! Top 10 and Tour Dates

Choir! Choir! Choir! calls Toronto home, with their regular Clinton’s Tavern gig on Tuesdays becoming a TO arts institution. Hosted, conducted, and arranged by Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman, C!C!C! is one of my favourite YouTube channels and musical outlets.

They’ve played with the likes of Rufus Wainwright, Tegan and Sara, Patti Smith, and freaking Rick Astley. They’ve played the Juno’s stage and Massey Hall and festivals. They’ve created covers of classics and modern favourites. They’ve surprised me, given me goosebumps, and made me cry. This is the best of music, the love of people coming together to sing and share and love. When we think of choirs we tend to think of churches, elementary schools, television glee clubs, and maybe even carolling at Christmas time, but this is all of that amped up and very very good.

Choir! Choir! Choir! is kind of like Broken Social Scene. You’ll always have Nobu and Daveed, but who knows who else is going to be involved in a song. There are regulars and new-comers, there are special events and songs recorded on tour. The size of the choir fluctuates too, but none of that matters, because the result is always something special.

The first time I saw C!C!C! in person, they sang Elvis, Rihanna, Robyn, Radiohead and more at the Toronto Botanical Garden in 2013. They were about 60 strong, they were fun and impressive, and I’ve been watching ever since.

To get folks ready for the Choir! Choir! Choir!’s upcoming tour dates (they were recently in Denver, Boulder, Chicago, and Fish Creek) from Portland to Tucson. I’ve put together a Top 10 list that combines some of their biggest hits (in YouTube views) and my personal favourites.

Anything over 1 million views made the list because that’s a pretty great accomplishment. And special love goes to Zombie, the video with the most watches on the C!C!C! YouTube channel, currently sitting at over 2.9 million views.

With the exception of including the million+ videos, there was nothing easy about putting this list together. I have a soft spot for the way Choir! Choir! Choir! makes songs sound, and I have a lot of favourites. But, I’ve done my best, I’ve got my list, and I hope you like them too.

Honourable mentions: Truth Hurts, Tiny Dancer, Mr. Brightside, Because The Night, Heart Shaped Box, and more…

Now, check out my list and below that, check out the list of upcoming tour dates where you can get tickets and sing with Choir! Choir! Choir!

Enjoy!
