Ready? Let’s Go!

Artist: Sam Hunt
Hometown: Cedertown, GA
Genre: Country
Related: Michael Ray, Dylan Scott, Chase Rice
Song: Kinfolks
Notes: Sam Hunt is back! Kinfolks is the first single from Hunt’s upcoming album, and the first single release since Downtown’s Dead in May 2018. The production and vibe of the song matches what we know from Sam Hunt, with added layers of pop influence and flow over the country base. Will Kinfolks be as big as Body Like A Back Road? We don’t know, but we do know that it’s exciting to have Sam Hunt back on the scene.

Genre: Rock
Related: Sum 41, blink-182, Billy Talent
Song: Fire, Ready, Aim
Notes: Vet rockers Green Day are the new musical partners of the National Hockey League and Fire, Ready, Aim is the first song released with the NHL involved. It’s punchy, it’s quick, it’s got energy, and since Wednesday it’s racked up 330,000+ plays on YouTube alone. Enjoy!

Artist: Jade Eagleson
Hometown: Bailieboro, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Andrew Hyatt, Shawn Austin, Matt Lang
Song: Lucky
Notes: Jade Eagleson sticks close to his country roots and influences on Lucky. This one is going to be fun to sing along to on the radio, and when Eagleson hits the stage to play it live in his set. Add it to his early career success and it’s easier every day to see Jade Eagleson becoming a big star in Canadian country music.

Artist: Simple Plan & State Champs (ft. We the Kings)
Hometown: Montreal, QC // Albany, NY // Bradenton, FL
Genre: Pop Punk
Related: The All-American Rejects, Yellowcard, Boys Like Girls
Song: Where I Belong
Notes: Canadian pop punk mainstays Simple Plan are back at the helm of a triple headers on Where I Belong. Along with State Champs and We the Kings (the three bands will tour together this fall) the Montreal natives have given us exactly what we’d imagined when we hit play. It’s fun, it’s catchy, everyone is involved, and we’re into it. We hope they play it together every night on tour.

Artist: The East Pointers
Hometown: Charlottetown, PEI
Genre: Contemporary Folk
Related: Talisk, Trail West, Tim Chaisson
Song: Halfway Tree
Notes: With a combination of traditional folk sounds, high impact beats, and smooth lyrics, The East Pointers have our attention with Halfway Tree. It’s fun and folky and smooth and catchy. It’s a song we could (and will) listen to a bunch.
