Notes: Under You is more new Foo. Honestly, it’s still weird to get excited about new Foo Fighters music. I don’t know if that will ever stop – but here we are and here it is. Everything is here, the sound, the vibe, all of it. I turned it up. I listened on repeat. I’m emotional, but enjoying every second of it.

Notes: Sam Roberts Band is a long-time favourite, a Canadian treasure, and 21 years after Brother Down, I’m still all in. I Dream Of You is sweet. It’s not a rocker. It’s not a banger. It’s lovely. It’s guitars and it’s vibey. I get a Beatles feeling. I get a feeling like I want to see SRB live again soon. I get happy memories. I get it all in a brand-new song. What more could I want?

Notes: Our love for Ralph is oversized. Pain Relief reminds us of all of the things we’ve been in on for years. The songwriting, the beats in the back, the voice, the video, the promise of more coming on the 222 EP (June 30, 2023) – it all comes together here in just over two and a half minutes. Love.

Notes: Canadian country honky-tonker, Jade Eagleseon plays into everything he is on Honky Talkin’ and it’s going to get played a lot, heard by a lot of country music fans, and played on stage when you see Jade next. The voice that won him the emerging artist showcase at Boots & Hearts in 2017 is as strong as ever, and now we all know it. And we’ll keep knowing it, because Honky Talkin’ ain’t the end – you can bet on that. Enjoy!

Notes: The first time we saw Jane’s Party, they opened for Sam Roberts Band in Toronto at the CNE – so it’s perfect to have them both on this list together. Ships On An Ocean is going to be a sing-along song before long. When I hear it, I know I’m gonna be here tapping my foot and spending a few minutes just happy being in music, and there aren’t many places better than that.
