The Cadillac Three Announces 2020 Country Fuzz Release

The Cadillac Three have announced the upcoming release of their fourth full-length album, Country Fuzz in early 2020. The Nashville grunge-country rockers dropped two new singles, Back Home and Long After Last Call to accompany the announcement that the album will be released in full on February 7, 2020, via Big Machine.

We haven’t talked to the boys in the band about the album but based on what information is available, and what we’ve gathered since the release of their 2017 album Legacy, this is what we know…

✰  Country Fuzz is a full 16-song album with a run-time of approximately 46 minutes. That means it’s going to be something that listeners can dig into and really get a vibe from and a feel for this record.

✰  It feels like it’s been a long time coming. At the end of September 2018, we saw The Cadillac Three in Toronto at The Opera House and Jaren told the packed house that the band had finished recording their next album. That announcement drew a big cheer from the crowd. We don’t know if more work was done after that, or if it’s just been a long waiting game, but we’re all ready now.

✰  The band has started to play some of the new music live, with Crackin’ Cold Ones With The Boys, All The Makin’s Of A Saturday Night, and Whiskey And Smoke all appearing on setlists in recent months (via setlist.fm).

✰  Fans are pumped! Social media posts by the band announcing the new album and songs have received thousands of likes, shares, and comments. It’s a bunch of good buzz from the people that matter.

✰  From thecadillacthree.comThey also produced, with their live show in mind. “As many shows as we play, we still switch our sets up every night. We really try to do something different, and now we have 16 new songs that we can add in.” says Neil.

✰  The title Country Fuzz comes from the name they’ve been giving their sound for years now. It’s theirs and using the term as the title of their album makes sense.

Back Home & Long After Last Call, released together on October 25, 2019

In our review of The Cadillac Three’s set at Boots & Hearts 2019, we said that the band has become one of our favourite touring country bands. They are energetic. They are genuine. There’s no bullshit. There’s just music. They are the same way on their albums. This is about their music. This is about writing and recording and sharing songs that TC3 has decided fit for them. It’s what we’ve come to expect and appreciate about The Cadillac Three over the years.

So far, we’ve heard a quarter of this album. Four of sixteen songs are out. They are in our ears. They are in our heads. They make us want to hear the rest, not in February, now. But we’ll wait. And we’ll be excited and ready on the first Friday of February 2020.

We know that these boys can write, record, and release songs that connect with their fans. We know that they continue to grow their audience at home in America, in Canada, in Europe, and beyond every time they release a new album or go on tour. They are supported by a grassroots movement of fans that buy tickets, albums, merch, and spread the good word of country fuzz at every opportunity.

And with the new album on the way, a new tour (hopefully) to accompany it, and sweet merch (shirts, jean jackets, koozies, and more) to boot – fans of The Cadillac Three are going to have a lot to talk about in 2020.

“God bless this thing called country and western heavy metal music.” – Jaren Johnston, September 27, 2019.

Call it country and western heavy metal, call it grungy country rock, call it country fuzz, call it whatever the eff you want. On February 7, 2020, you can bet we’ll be listening to the new album from The Cadillac Three.
