Inspired by the release of Arkells’ Campfire Chords album, I’ve been thinking about sitting around a fire with friends and someone is strumming a guitar and we’re all singing and enjoying the fresh air and stars and songs.

I let myself fall into the daydream a little deeper so I could think of the songs that I’d love to get together with friends to sing. songs that some of us know all the words to, some that most of us would only know the chorus, but that’s enough for a good campfire sing-along in my books.

This list has 15 songs that I love. Songs that I would be absolutely thrilled to sit in the dark and sing with pals and/or strangers. There’s no particular order in the list – but I am pleased to start with Blue Rodeo and finish with a double shot of The Tragically Hip.
