Ready? Let’s go!

Artist: Thomas Rhett

Song: What’s Your Country Song
Notes: The nostalgia packed new single from Thomas Rhett links back to hits by Alan Jackson, Merle, Alabama, Garth Brook, George Strait, Barbara Mandrell, his own daddy and more. What’s Your Country Song is a comfort track for country fans to dive into and sing along with. Turn it on, turn it up, enjoy!

Artist: Haviah Mighty
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Hip Hop / Rap
Related: Snotty Nose Rez Kids, The Sorority, Keysha Freshh
Song: Atlantic
Notes: Haviah Mighty doesn’t pull punches or hold back on Atlantic, and that’s the beauty of it. In a statement that goes directly to the heart of the song, Haviah Mighty said, “The Atlantic Ocean was used as a vessel of support for these wicked practices, at the expense of my Black ancestors. We were forced to come to the Americas to make this idea of value stronger, bigger, better, with very little benefit.”

This song is heavy and powerful. Listen well.

Artist: Judah & The Lion
Hometown: Nashville, TN
Genre: Alt-Rock-Folk
Related: The National Parks, Grizfolk, The Band CAMINO
Song: Spirit
Notes: Judah & the Lion dropped three new songs on Friday with Spirit leading the way. The track is uplifting and gives me everything I want from the band. It’s a fit with the songs I already know and appreciate from them, it’s got the kind of arrangement and instrumentation I expect and enjoy in their music, and I’m ready to hear it live when we have that opportunity. Enjoy!

Artist: Yukon Blonde
Hometown: Kelowna, BC
Genre: Rock
Related: Said The Whale, Hey Rosetta!, The Zolas
Song: YGTT
Notes: From the new album, Vindicator, Yukon Blonde’s YGTT is a groovy listen that makes me rock and sway a little while I listen and embodies a little more chill than I expected when I hit play. They’ve got that thing, you’ve got that thing, we’ve all got that thing.

Artist: Ben Hudson
Hometown: Uxbridge, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Jade Eagleson, Kris Barclay, Andrew Hyatt
Song: Just Like That
Notes: Ben Hudson sounds like country and writes like country and Just Like That is another one that we hope gets more fans to put him on their radar. The falling in love story is an uptempo good time that deserves some spins, some love, and some opportunities for the hard-working indie artist.
