I miss David Bowie. We all miss David Bowie. But thank God, the music remains.

Over his exciting, ground-breaking, experimental, hit-making, magical career, David Bowie gave us songs that will live forever. Characters that feel alive. Memories we love. And we’re thankful and awed.

And while we should have done this a long time ago, here we are now with the David Bowie Top 10 list, by the numbers.

As always, the list started with the ‘Popular’ list on David Bowie’s Spotify page. We took down those numbers and then headed over to YouTube. There we gathered streaming numbers for official music videos and audio releases (including remastered releases) but not live performances.

After we had all the numbers it was time to add them up and do the sorting. So we did and that’s how we ended up with this top 10 list and the order.

Are there songs we love that aren’t on this list? Hell yes. But, overall, this is a very good list of David Bowie songs, and it’s based on the math we did with the numbers we had available. So, here we are.

It really is impossible to take a career like Bowie’s and give you only 10 songs that are “the best”, but that’s the assignment, and it was easier because we had the math to tell us where to put things.
