Artist: Mother Mother
Hometown: Quadra Island, BC
Genre: Alternative
Related: Penelope Scott, Tally Hall, GRLwood
Song: Hayloft II
Notes: Mother Mother are back with a banger and a sequel all at the same time. Hayloft II is storytelling from top to bottom, the video is a movie, the whole thing makes me wish it was a feature film. I want more, I want them to write the entire soundtrack, and Mother Mother, if you’re reading this, I hope you make it happen!

Artist: Andrew Hyatt
Hometown: Sudbury, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Dallas Smith, Shawn Austin, Jojo Mason
Song: High Tide
Notes: In the lead-up to the release of High Tide, Andrew Hyatt posted about the real-life pain and struggle that went into the song. Vulnerability is nothing new in songs from the emerging Canadian country star, but this may be the most open and raw and available he’s ever been all the way to the core.
If you need help, if you feel alone or like the lights won’t come on, please reach out to someone you love and trust. Don’t be alone. You are loved.

Genre: Pop
Related: Sasha Sloan, Carlie Hanson, Clara Mae
Song: Don’t Break His Heart
Notes: bülow has been on our watch list for a while now, and Don’t Break His Heart is the next in a line of tracks that we’ve been happy to have in her young career. She’s catchy and strong and smooth – and while we’re used to all of that, it’s still fantastic to hit play and hear it all over again on a new song.

Artist: Donovan Woods

Related: Dan Mangan, Wold Rivers, Craig Cardiff
Song: I Won’t Mention It Again
Notes: Celebrated singer-songwriter Donovan Woods is here with the second pre-release track from his upcoming EP, Big Hurt Boy (Mar. 18/22). I Won’t Mention It Again is vivid and detailed. It’s storytelling and depth. It’s what we’ve become accustomed to in all the best ways. It’s one you’re going to want to hit play on a second or third time to take it all in. Enjoy.

Song: Small Talk
Notes: Small Talk comes from Dear Rouge’s upcoming album Spirit (Apr. 22/22) and gives us another one to enjoy the heck out of one of our favourite Canadian acts. This one is fun. It’s fun to listen to and bob your head to and tap your foot to and just fall into. Turn this one up a little bit and go for it!
