New Music Spotlight with Alice in Chains, NOFX and More

New Music from Alice in Chains, Lo Lo, Jesse and the Dandelions, They Might Be Giants, Espanola, Tenderfoot and NOFX

We couldn’t narrow our new music picks down to five this week, there’s just too much great new music.  So this week we’re bringing you a second New Music Spotlight.

We’re inlcuding a mix of indie, rock, punk, country and pop from Canada, the US and Australia.

Let’s do this!

Artist: Alice in Chains
Hometown: Seattle, WA
Genre: Rock / Alternative / Grunge / Metal
Related: Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam
Song: The One You Know
Notes: Alice in Chains are back after a 5-year music release hiatus. With William DuVall singing lead, the new release from Alice in Chains is the first tease from their promised upcoming album. Currently on tour, the band just passed through Toronto and they’ll be hitting up The Strombo Show on May 6th.

Artist: Lo Lo
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop

Song: Yours
Notes: Yours is a super cute lyric video with a ridiculously catchy song that gets caught in a loop in your brain.

Artist: Jesse and the Dandelions
Hometown: Edmonton, AB
Genre: Indie Rock
Related: Scenic Route to Alaska, Still Parade
Song: Not Getting Your Way
Notes: Lead singer Jesse Northey says, “Not Getting Your Way is a song about people who have been handed everything, and how they respond when things don’t go as planned for them. It’s fun to be lyrically cheeky, and mysterious at the same time. It’s a sort of guitar heavy crossover between Teenage Wasteland and songs from MGMT’s debut record.”

I love this song and I’m working hard to clear my Canadian Music Week schedule on May 12th, so that I can see them perform live at The Cameron House.
