Canadian Music Week 2019 is rapidly approaching and we’re getting excited. And we’re not the only ones.
To get us one step closer, we caught up with one of our Toronto favourites for their CMW recommendations. Goodnight, Sunrise hooked us up with their Top 5 choices for the packed week of music in the city.

We are stoked to be a part of CMW again this year, not once but twice! First we’ve got the party slot Friday night – 2 am at the Horseshoe, closing the night after Nick Waterhouse. Then on Sunday we’re shutting down the fest at the Bovine with a double celebration – it’s our 8th annual band birthday party show and ALSO exactly the one-year anniversary of us opening for Bon Jovi last year at the ACC! We actually ended that night at Bovine so it’ll all come full circle – and yes, we’ll be throwing in a Bon Jovi cover…
We picked some videos from bands we either have played with before or are playing with next week, plus a wild card at the end – and perhaps in some way these bands all smushed together kind of cover the musical bases of our influences!
Busty and the Bass
We opened up for them in Saint John, NB last summer – the talent, energy, creativity, and musical range in this band is bonkers.

Skye Wallace
We played with Skye at Dawson City Music Festival in the Yukon last summer and she kicks ass. She’s rocking CMW and then in June we’re opening up her album release party too!

Moon Tan

We saw Winnipeg’s Moon Tan last year and their live show is INSANE. They are basically (and we mean this in the absolute best possible way) like Rush means Kiss. They play CMW but we’re also playing with them in Peterborough May 9th!
Update: The CMW Presents George Clanton showcase at The Garrison that included Moon Tan on the bill has been canceled. Stay tuned for updated show info.

Like a Motorcycle
LAM are Canada’s most badass band – we played with them in their hometown of Halifax a couple years back, and we seriously wish we were 1/100th as cool as them.
