Arkells Release New Single, Years In The Making
Canadian rock bois, Arkells, are back with a new track, Years In The Making, and we’re here for it!
The band started teasing the track on February 21st when they asked “WHO’S READY TO ADD ANOTHER HIT 👀?” in a social media post. Then, on Sunday the 23rd, they ramped up the excitement with the Facebook post we’ve embedded below showing a newspaper with what looks like a bunch of song lyrics.
It’s a great visual, a creative tease, and it pairs so incredibly perfectly with Arkells’ recent push for more Canadians to subscribe to newspapers that we can’t help put applaud.
We asked on Twitter if fans thought the band was going to announce a new single, album, concert, combo of those three, or something else. And a lot of people were right when they said single. A lot of people were also hopeful for more – and so were we.
Maybe we’ll all hear more new soon?
Things got a little more clear on Monday when Arkells released the quick tease of the Years In The Making music video… but then we all had to wait another day for the reveal.
Then, after all of the teasing was done, noon rolled around on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, and we got ourselves a shiny new Arkells jam!
Years In The Making is the first new music from Arkells since the release of the Rally Cry album in October 2018 – and while that is a perfectly reasonable amount of time, there’s no exaggeration in saying that fans of the band were more than ready and have been for some time. Is that greedy? Maybe. Do we understand? Yes.

But now we have new music. A new video. And, if we’re lucky, a new album on the way.
For now, bask in the energy and groove of Years In The Making. Dance and sing along at home, at work, on the train, wherever you are. And be ready, because we have the feeling that Arkells are going to be back with more teases and more news sooner rather than later.
